Year 6 have been studying WWII and decided to invite older family members to come into school to talk about the war. They prepared questions to ask our visitors and then went about planning a very special coffee morning.
They shared out tasks and worked really hard to make the event a fantastic success. Their preparations involved baking cakes, making menus and posters, creating scenic backdrops, selecting appropriate music and making videos. During the event several pupils served the tables and those adults who attended shared their stories about the war. Many brought along items to show the children. Every single child was fascinated with the stories told and their behaviour was impeccable. The adults congratulated our pupils on their excellent questions, good manners and enthusiasm. This was a wonderful occasion. Thanks must also go to Mrs Martens who organised the event and Mrs Aspinall and Mrs Gelezinis who helped to make it such a success.
