The weather was perfect for our school and parish Summer Fair, on Saturday. In the weeks building up to this event, a number of enthusiastic, committed volunteers have been working flat out to ensure this was a great day and, from beginning, to end, it was!
Opened by celebrity guest, Jay Hutton, the Fair offered a wide variety of fun and refreshments for both adults and children. It was great to see a huge cross-section of our school/parish community turn out and support our fundraising efforts. The organisation on the day was faultless. Special praise must be given to those people who spent all day Friday (from early morning until 11.30pm) setting up equipment for stalls, carrying tables and putting up gazebos. Many of those same people returned from 7am on Saturday to continue with preparations and one even slept on the field to ensure everything was safe. Many volunteers did not return home until late on Saturday evening, having cleared the field and put everything away. To those who made this event possible, on behalf of St Joseph’s school, I wish to say a massive thank you. I hope you all know how much your efforts mean to our staff, pupils and families. We will let you know the final total raised, later in the week.
