On Friday 22nd November our children did all they could to raise money for the families of children in the Philippines. The children took over the school! They planned a special Friday Fair, which featured a huge variety of tasty and exciting stalls. They set up their stalls, sorted out floats and advertising and collected a huge amount of money. The event was a tremendous success and all the teachers and staff were left in awe of the children's response. St Joseph's is a special place. St Joseph's children are special children. Thank you.

Food HygeneSt Joseph's pupils were visited by a theater group from the FSA (Food Standard Agency), who using drama, explained the importance of hygiene in the kitchen. They called themselves The Science Sleuths and they had to investigate mysterious goings on in a hotel kitchen. In the afternoon the Science Sleuths visited the pupils and held a workshop on the 4 C's: Cross contamination, Cleaning, Chilling and Cooking. All the pupils had a wonderful experience (as you can see!) Children in Need 2013Once again St Joseph's children did themselves proud in fundraising for BBC's Children in Need. Many of the children dressed up and Year 5 girls contributed cakes for a fantastic cake stall. The children raised £104.35 for the cake stall and £191.84 for Own Clothes. Well done and thanks to all.
