On Friday, we celebrated World Book Day. Many children (and staff) dressed as their favourite book character and in lessons, there was lots of talk about books and developing a love of reading. In Friday’s Assembly, we announced the winners of Miss Copp’s ‘Get Caught Reading’ Competition, which involved children being photographed in unusual places. There was a fantastic variety of entries which are displayed in our hall. Below are the winners. Mrs Beagan, our volunteer librarian, also ran a competition for children to guess in which book her scarecrow character featured. Below, are the winners. It was another happy day and great to celebrate our love of reading, together. Hopefully, everyone will be sitting down, over the weekend, with a book, instead of turning on the TV/XBox/PS4 or staring at our phones!
