This week has been an incredible week for teamwork and collaboration.
It began on Saturday, when a group of volunteers worked tirelessly to clear and plant our garden areas. This work had been planned with the Eco-Council under the leadership of Mrs Evans. We are grateful for the hard work of all who contributed. Next, it was Fr Frank Ryan’s introduction of a new display screen and slideshow for use in school masses. This went down a storm, on Thursday, with the pupils reporting that they felt far more involved in what was going on. Thank you, Fr Frank. After this, we had the latest meeting to plan for the Summer Fair. For the first time in many years, this will be a shared function with money split equally between school and church. This looks like being a wonderful community event which will reflect our ever closer working relationships. Thank you to PTA members and parish representatives who have made this possible. On Friday morning, the School Council, under the leadership of Miss Jones, met with the PTA to discuss spending priorities and to draw up an action plan. More news will follow. A busy Friday continued with our newly formed Choir Club meeting to prepare for some whole school events. The club is now a weekly fixture, run by volunteers from the parish. Thank you to Mrs Davila, Mrs Vo-Hughes and Mr and Mrs Smith. We look forward to hearing you all sing for us. Finally, on Friday afternoon, we were, once again, joined by parents for our ‘Come and See’ Topic Celebrations. As usual, it was wonderful to see and hear what the children have been doing in each class. After the celebration, the BoBs/SNaG Group served refreshments and cakes they had baked themselves. Thank you to Mrs Aspinall and Mrs Graham (our school cook) who have encouraged and supported this super team of young people. As you can see, from this ‘one-week snapshot’, this is a truly special community, of which we should all be very proud. Comments are closed.
