What about September?

I am sure you are all eager to know what will be happening in September. We expect there to be an announcement from Kirsty Williams/Welsh Government this week.
 
Currently, we do not know……..

• whether we will have all pupils back as normal or (like now) some sort of rota
• whether Nursery and Playgroup will be starting as normal
• whether we will be able to offer Breakfast Club and/or After School Club
• whether there will be Childcare Provision here in September

 
As soon as we know more, we will let you know.
 
However, there a few details we CAN confirm.

• Class teachers for September 2020 – Nursery/Reception (Miss Roberts), Year 1 (Mrs Williams), Year 2 (Mrs Roberts), Year 3 (Mrs Taylor/Mrs Evans), Year 4 (Miss Jones replacing Mrs Laing who will be on the Welsh Sabbatical Course), Year 5 (Miss Copp), Year 6 (Mrs Martens)
• Week 4 of ‘Check In’ (20th-24th July) will be our school ‘Transition Week’. During this week the following will be taking place to prepare children for whatever September brings……
  • Children meeting and Q&A with new teachers (Face to face or on Teams)
  • Children/families preparing ‘One Page Profiles’ to help staff get to know their new class
  • Staff sharing their own ‘One Page Profiles’ with children so they can get to know staff better
  • Virtual Parents Meetings for current Nursery and Year 2 classes to discuss transition
  • Transition visits for Year 6 children to high schools
  • A Virtual Year 6 Leavers’ Mass/Assembly
  • Provision of booklets to support pupils with specific ALN needs regarding transition
  • Opportunity for Q&A with all parents about September
