A group of Year 5 and 6 boys, who have been attending after school rugby training sessions, were given the opportunity to take part in a Tag Rugby festival at Parc Eirias. The festival was organised by students from Coleg Llandrillo working in conjunction with the WRU. Fortunately, considering the harsh winter weather conditions, the game was played in the hi-tech facilities of the Eirias Barn. The boys all enjoyed the competition; working hard, scoring tries and making tackles, their performance improved with each game. There was some disappointment as one child, who had been eagerly anticipating playing in the festival, was sidelined by a knee injury the day before. However, the dark cloud had a silver-lining for all players, as it was revealed that a larger festival was planned for later in the year. It was also explained that there may be an opportunity for our school to work on a Literacy and Numeracy project at Parc Eirias, supported by RGC and the WRU. We look forward to further news on this and future rugby events. Many thanks to the pupils, our parent helper, Coleg Llandrillo and the WRU for their support of our children.
