Making Changes

On Friday, more than 20 people attended our Parent Teachers Association Annual General Meeting. This number also included our parish priest, Fr Frank Ryan. It’s a long time since St Joseph’s had this many willing volunteers to support fundraising and social activities.

Below are some of the decisions from the meeting.

• Mr Wilkinson will continue as Chair with Mrs Russell as Secretary and Mrs Pritchard as treasurer
• Mrs Mulley will be Vice-Chair and Mrs Vo-Hughes will shadow Mrs Russell as secretary
• A PTA Facebook page will be set up, along with a new school notice board. Regular newsletters will be also be issued
• Parents will be made more aware of fundraising priorities and amounts raised and spent
• There will be a mixture of Friday morning and midweek evening PTA meetings
• There will be a film show on Friday next week at 5.30pm (details to follow on Monday)
• Parents will be invited to Friday Sharing assemblies (see picture above) after half term and refreshments will be served by the PTA

We are confident that the increased membership and high enthusiasm levels will generate more income, further improve home/school communication and help our community to ‘Grow in Love’. Many thanks to all involved.
