There seems to be an awful lot of interesting things going on, in school, at the moment, and we’ve not even reached the Christmas rush, yet!
Reception class have been up in Pwllycrochan Woods in search of ‘The Gruffalo’, whilst Year 1 have been to Llandudno Library looking for Alice in Wonderland. Year 5 have been learning to play rugby with Wales International and Colwyn Bay 1st team coach, Rachel Taylor. A team of Year 5/6 pupils, then, competed in a local Tag Rugby Tournament. Year 6 returned from 3 days of outdoor adventure in Nant BH and went to visit the WWII Museum in Llandudno. We received an email from the museum praising the pupils on their manners, behaviour and enthusiasm for learning. Years 5 and 6 have been swimming every day this week and will be doing the same again next week. There has been a mixed response to this new Conwy initiative, from tired pupils, staff and parents! The school choir have been getting ready to sing in local nursing homes, down in the town centre and at our Carol Service. They’ll need plenty of space as choir is proving very popular, this year. Mini-Vinnies and the new school GIFT team are up and running and planning how to put faith into action in making a difference in school and in the wider community. Finally, Year 5 and 6 pupils have been taking part in drumming workshops with local musician, Carol Thomas. They will be leading the ‘Colwyn Bay Christmas Parade’ on Friday 30th November, which will end with the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights. All this and we haven’t even mentioned the preparations for our biggest ever Christmas Fair!
