On Friday, we held a special Parent Sharing Assembly, to introduce our new focus on ‘Learning Powers’. Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and relatives who came to join us. The initiative is based on the GWE Shirley Clarke Project and is being coordinated by Miss Roberts and Miss Copp.
During the last week, each class has explored one of the ‘Learning Powers’ and, in Friday’s assembly, they explained all about how it could help them in school. They also created a superhero to represent the power and chose someone from their class to dress up. The powers explained were - ‘Don’t give up!’, ‘Be cooperative’, ‘Be curious’, ‘Have a go!’, ‘Use your imagination’, ‘Keep improving’ and ‘Enjoy learning’. These powers are vital skills which will assist pupils from Nursery right through to the workplace. We have also adapted our ‘Disgybl yr Wythnos’ certificates, now called ‘Pwer Dysgu’, which will be awarded to pupils who demonstrate the effective use of learning powers each week. We hope to share more with you, as we further develop this project.
