Once again, St Joseph’s have proved themselves to be the best primary school cricket team in Conwy. Last week, our team won the Colwyn Area finals and yesterday they came away victorious from the county finals. On Tuesday, they will play against the county winners from Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Anglesey and Gwynedd to decide the North Wales Champions. In recent years, we have narrowly lost out but, you never know, this could be our year.
It is great to see the continued success of our school cricketers. Over the years, many of the young players who have represented the school in these tournaments, have gone on to play for local clubs, county youth sides and to play adult league cricket. It goes to show that positive early experiences can lead to a love of, and commitment to, sport for life.
