On Friday, the children in Year 1 and 2 performed their final dress-rehearsal of the Nativity based Christmas Concert, ‘A Little Bird Told Me’. The staff and pupils have been working very hard for several weeks to make sure the stage is set, lines are learnt and songs are ready to be performed to an eager audience. Today, that audience was made up parents, grandparents, wider family members and the rest of the children in the school. It certainly looks like all that hard work has paid off. The children looked and sounded wonderful and the audience responded with great enthusiasm. There was a brief moment of concern as the children sang their final number ‘We found Jesus’, only to discover he wasn’t there! It turned out Mary was feeling unwell, so Jesus was being cradled ‘backstage’ by Mary, who, in turn, was being cradled by Mrs Williams!
Well, as they say, I’m sure it will all be right on the night. If this rehearsal was anything to go by, Monday and Tuesday night’s audiences are in for a wonderful early Christmas present. Well done to Year 1 and 2 and all the dedicated staff.
